We left our house at 4:59 this morning. All we did was drove ‘till we reached
Illinois. Then we stopped at McDonalds
for breakfast. We drove some more until
we reached Springfield and ate lunch. We
also went to Abraham Lincoln’s house.
There we became Junior Rangers.
He was born in a log cabin the size of his kitchen- which was smaller
than my room! He also didn’t accept to
be nominated as president. After that we
drove to Tennessee and spent the night at a Days Inn hotel in Grenada, MS. We ate Dominoes pizza for supper.

We woke up at 5:30 this morning and ate breakfast at the
hotel. Then we drove to Vicksburg. We saw a movie about the battle there and
went on a driving tour around the park.
We saw a lot of monuments; there was over 1,300 in the whole park.
At the graveyard, there were 17,000 graves and over 13,000 of them were
unknown. Isaac bought a Union hat.
After Vicksburg, we drove to LOUISIANA! I was the first one out there. The first place we went was a place where they re-enacted a civil war battle. The cannons were the best part! They were loud and the made the ground shake! There was a lot of smoke too. After we looked at all the shops there. Mom said I should get a dress but they were $100 and U-G-L-Y! It looked like an over-sized lampshade under a skirt.
After that we drove to Baton Rouge. There we ate at a Cajun restaurant. I had a chicken strip sandwich and it was AWESOME! I talked my parents into driving more because Baton Rouge looked like crap and I did not want to stay there. We stayed in Dennings, LA.

We woke up around 6ish and had cinnamon roll bread from Bloedows
for breakfast. Then we took off for
Texas. First stop in Texas, the city of
orange. There we stopped at a visitor’s center
to find stuff to do. Then we walked
along a bridge walking path through a swamp.
We looked for snakes but didn’t see any.
Mom made us take a picture by the Texas template thingy.
After that we drove to a ferry. We got on the boat as soon as we got there. It was very windy and there were a lot of seagulls chasing us.
When we got off the ferry, we were in Galveston. The first thing we did was go to the beach. At the beach Mom took pictures- of course- and we played in the sand and looked for seashells. After the beach we went to a souvenir shop. Luke got a shark in a bottle.
Then we went back to the car and made sandwiches. This weird guy gave mom this rose thingy made of a palm leaf. He wanted donations but we drove away. He scared me. We then to the “The Ocean Star.” It was about getting oil from an ocean. Then we went to the down town area. We walked around and looked at shops. After that we went back to the car and drove to Moody Gardens. It was sorta fun. Mom and Dad and Ike and Luke went to a SpongeBob 4-D movie. During that time, Sam and I went to a Ride Film. It was pretty fun. We were escaping from Dinosaur Island. I got an adorable red-eyed tree frog poster! And I also got a frog postcard for Bethany and orange crème rock candy!
Then we went to a hotel. It is called “La Quinta.” After we unloaded we went to a Mexican restaurant. It was the best Mexican I’ve ever eaten! The quesadillas were ah-mazing and so was the rice and cheese. We got back to the hotel and I read and went to bed.

We woke up around 6:30, showered, and ate breakfast. Then we headed off to NASA Johnson Space Center. It was AWESOME! I learned so much! The arm of the International Space Station
(ISS) is called Caanadarm 2. Pluto may
not be a planet but it has 3 moons. Geysers
have been found on one of Saturn’s moons.
The water shoots 100-200 feet in the air and its called “Cold
Faithful.” They’re supposed to land on
the moon again by 2020 and have people on Mars by 2030. They’re also supposed to make a station on
the moon for people. We saw a lot of
movies there. I got a NASA
sweatshirt.
After NASA we went to a big Texas monument. Then we ate at Sonic, of course! After eating we looked at stores. Then we went back to the hotel and cleaned up so we could leave the next morning. We soon went to bed.

We got up this morning and packed up, ate breakfast, and
left. We drove to San Antonio, a
three-hour drive. (It rained the whole
way. ) When we got there we went to the Alamo. The Alamo was where
the Texans and the Mexicans had a battle during the Texas Revolution.
We ate at Pat O’Brians. We also went to the mall in San Antonio. IT WAS AMAZING! Wow it was HUGE! I got a shirt from Aeropostale. We went on the Riverwalk twice. Once in the day and once at night. The lights were amazing.
Me and mom got a picture by the Lingo guy, also, the world’s biggest bobble head. That night we went to Days Inn to sleep and ate sandwiches for supper. For the first time I got to sleep in a bed!

Today we went to the Natural Bridge Caverns. The difference between a cave and a cavern is
that a cave has only one room and a cavern has many. It was 70 degrees in the cavern and 99%
humidity. This cavern was probably one
of the best ones we’ve been to yet.
Then we drove to Austin, Texas. When we got to Austin we went to a Texas Museum. Texas is bigger than France and England COMBINED. The museum was pretty cool. We watched a movie about Texas at the IMAX. After the museum we went to find a hotel. We ended up staying at La Quinta! Which is Spanish for just about everything. We went to a Mexican place to eat. It was okay but I definitely not as good as El Torro. After eating we went to a bridge to watch bats fly out from under it. There was over 750,000 bats! Then we went back to the hotel.

This morning we ate breakfast and left the hotel around
7:30ish. We drove right to Waco, Texas
and went to a Dr. Pepper museum. I
learned that soda is 86-93% water! Dad
bought us each a Dr. P and Sam got a warm one.
After Mom’s usual pictures of us outside the building. we started driving to Dallas, Texas. When we got to Dallas we went to a JFK museum.
It was pretty
interesting, and right where he was killed.
Kennedy and Lincoln hav much in common.
Then we went to holiday Inn, in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Then we ate KFC for supper.
After Mom’s usual pictures of us outside the building. we started driving to Dallas, Texas. When we got to Dallas we went to a JFK museum.
